Is Extreme Hate Free Speech? That is a tough debate as banning any form of free speech opens a door for the government to ban anything that does not comply with their policies. The first amendment does not specify any cretin type of free speech.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The question I have is this: If a written publication, speech, or web site promotes an extreme form of hate towards a person, group, or race should it be considered so over the line of freedom of speech that it should be banned?
I do believe, especially on the internet, that there are cretin groups that promote so much hate that they are a threat to society and should be shut down. But on the other hand if you did begin to limit the freedom of speech in any way where would it end and would it open a sort of Pandora’s Box.
The reason I write this is that today is that I started to follow someone on Twitter that I thought was someone that had the same ideals as myself and would be great to network with. This person Tweeted his blog address and I clicked on the link to check it out. To my surprise, the blog had many links to White Supremacy, Anti Semitic, and other extremely hateful sites that I would never associate myself with. Needless to say I quickly un-followed them on Twitter.
His blog and the sites it linked to were so hateful, that in my opinion were a danger to this country and its people. Now I know that is just my opinion and who am I to judge what should be allowed, but is there no limit to what we allow under the protection of free speech?
The idea of limiting freedom goes against everything I believe in so this subject really is tearing at my core.
I am astounded by the number of people that put so much faith into the Government. It is like they want to revert to an infant and let the Government be their Mommy!
Did we all forget about Hurricane Katrina already? Did we forget how long it took the government to get help to the victims? Did we forget that most of the first responders did not show up for work? Instead they stayed home to protect their own family.
Imagine a natural or even a “man caused” disaster on a larger scale, how long will it take the government to get help to you and your family? Are you willing to bet your lives that the government will be there for you when you need them? I really hope not.
You are going to have to wean yourself off your addiction to the government if you intent to be prepared to care for your family in rough times.
Now days all you have to do is pick up a news paper and read about all the crap going on in the world today. You can see it and some can even feel it that we are headed to some sort of climax, some sort of world changing event is on the horizon.
Christians believe in “The End Of Times” prophecies and it sure looks like we are headed in that direction. Even if you are not religious you have to admit many things are pointing to a world changing event. The Nostradamus prophecies and the ancient Mayan both point to the year 2012 for something devastating. Super volcanoes like the one in Yellow Stone national park are past their time of eruption. Our sun is said to be ready to have a massive solar flare that could destroy most of the electrical and electronic devices of the modern world plunging us back over 200 years.
Just pick up a news paper, the planet is plagued with war, racism, drought, plagues and civil unrest.
I really hate to be the guys holding the sign that says “The End Is Coming” as I do not believe in an end but I can feel it in my bones that something is on the horizon and I need to prepare for my family’s sake.
It amazes me on how adultery is being promoted lately. It is like the OK has been given to have sex with anyone, anytime and in anyplace no matter what your marital status is.
Case and point, all the TV commercials for dating services I see lately that are not just to find a possible friend or lifelong companion, but rather just to “hook up” and have sex.
There is even one very large service, that advertises on TV regularly, that stated firmly that they are a service that is targeted to married people looking to have an affair! They even give a money back guarantee if you are not successful is having an affair behind your wife or husbands back!
To me this is just another sign of the path of degradation people are on in this country, and the entire world for that matter. It is a sign of the times, and that meaning getting closer to the end of times.
You shall not commit adultery now seems to mean grab a 5 hour energy drink and pop a Viagra and go have some fun, sad.
I have always noticed that Liberals in general are some of the first people to resort to name calling and personal attacks. Also this phenomenon has seemed to increase since Barack Obama’s poll numbers have started to plummet.
All of a sudden if you disagree with Barack Obama you are now automatically branded a racist by Liberals and the so called mainstream media. It is like they all follow a prewritten script on how to attack people that have a different point of view.
It seems to be really rampant on Twitter also. I have a twitter account for this blog and a personal account that mainly focuses on politics and making new friend connections. On my personal account I follow just about everybody except the endless stream of get rich quick, seo, and marketing gurus that seem to plague Twitter on a massive scale. I do use a service called Tweet Spinner to manage my account so weeding them out becomes easy once I got the follow and purge filters set up.
From time to time I follow a person of Liberal thinking, when I do nine times out of ten I get some sort of nasty comment, calling me a stupid Conservative, Moron or one of many other vulgar comments That I would not reprint here.
This really shows me what is in the heart of the majority of Liberals in this country, hatred, pure and simple. I usually continue to follow them but some unfortunately I have to ban because I really just do not want to put up with all the vulgar personal attacks. It is really sad when you come to think of it, do they think that their position so weak that they cannot stand a bit of conversation or debate.
Now I have met some great Liberal’s on Twitter and we have civil chats about just about anything that comes to mind including politics, so I know there are friendly Liberals out there and I find it enlightening chatting to them.
Remember “love thy neighbor” does not just mean neighbors that think like yourself.
